Okay so, I’ve an appealing hobby, and that i doubt you can find very many individuals that have this hobby, although I do are conscious of a couple, even some people that have written books on the topic. One thing I love to do is take famous quotes from “The Harper Book of Quotations” then I like to make an effort to argue against such common sense and wisdom, which is often within these quotes from notable people of past periods. One quote I’ve always liked is;
“Those That Forget to Study Their History Are Doomed to Repeat It.”
Now then, I actually have decided and figured that we must change that quote to read; “people who forget to study their history CORRECTLY, are doomed to repeat it.” Why you ask? Because it seems to me, and this is another piece of common wisdom; this is the victors who write the historical past.
Put simply whether they were wrong or right this is the victorious who rewrite History within their favor. In fact it is quite simple to study your history incorrectly without needing the skills you need because perhaps all of the information in the true and correct history is not with us or has been burned by those that were victorious.
Okay, now let’s take all of this to a higher-level. It seems these days in school the youngsters don’t really want to study history, and they often tell the history teacher; “why would I study all the dates, names, and events in history, when I look them up on Google anytime I would like to?” Yes, unfortunately a student who doesn’t feel as if studying since they are lazy is in fact correct, but yet remember the quote; “those who forget to study their history are doomed to repeat it.”
Is that this why so many of the up-and-coming generation are willing to vote for a person with a few ridiculous line of political rhetoric perhaps simply because they haven’t lived through enough history, or perhaps bothered to study their own ancestral history to comprehend the podium pusher’s political rhetoric is just that, thus they don’t realize it once they look at it? I would personally submit for you that this is a real problem. Nevertheless, because humans are repeating the folly of the previous history at this kind of fast and rapid rate, maybe they don’t have to study their history anymore?
Yes, I understand that you disagree using that statement, but permit me to explain it one other way. When we teach kids current events, then when they grow up everything will likely be there history, and we can prevent them from repeating that history by explaining what is happening inside the present period, while they’re are in school. Then we my relate it towards the correct history of past periods, without perhaps going to all the detail. Again simply because they can look it up on Google or Wikipedia anytime they really want.
In fact, even though you’ve never studied your history, or never even really liked the subject, it’s repeating so quick, and humans are making exactly the same mistakes repeatedly at this type of rapid rate, which it hardly matters. You rpylxx must remember a few years hence, to comprehend when something goes wrong.
At that time you have to act on this information, which brings up a whole other set of issues in age of global social media marketing, smart mobs, and instant information. But I won’t go into this now because I’m likely to ask that you stop and consider all of these points of contention, and find out should you agree with what I’ve presented. Please think into it.
